I spoke to Ms. Candance Veatch to get more information about her role as the New Avid Coordinator, here is what she had to say.

As the new AVID coordinator, I am honored to work with all AVID students on a more personal level.  AVID, Advancement Via Individual Determination, will continue to be a leading contributor of student growth, leadership, and higher level performances across all grade levels and curriculum at Hubbard Middle School.  AVID students should expect to be challenged to stay organized with their binders, take C-Notes in all classes, participate in class discussions, and have an intrinsic desire to learn to set positive examples for their peers.  Most importantly, I want my students to love being in AVID, feel like they are apart of a family unit, and work together creatively to encourage and inspire others through their individual talents and contributions.  I want them to understand what an incredible opportunity and privilege it is to be apart of an organization that truly prepares young people for college and life in general.  What a gift it is to impact lives and I am grateful to have the chance to positively influence students through the AVID program.

So if AVID seems right for you go talk to Ms. Veatch.
