The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has always done a lot for students, and the students give a lot of themselves, as stated in the NJHS handbook “Selection to NJHS is a privilege, not a right.” Students not only have to maintain a 93 or higher, they must have excellent conduct, demonstrate leadership, have excellent character and provide service to their community. This year the Hubbard chapter of the NJHS has done a lot for our school. Some of those include the following, assisted as student ambassadors for all Hubbard Open House events, worked booths for the Fall Carnival, served as peer tutors, and provided sister to sister Cookies to the entire staff. For their fall service project they sold over 3500 candy canes, which they then hand tied messages to each one, delivered them to the students and staff at Hubbard. The money raised from this project was used to provide Christmas gift cards for the custodians and cafeteria workers at Hubbard. And if that isn’t enough they also are conducting a school wide uniform drive to collect used uniforms to donate to the school.
